FAREWELL POST

Image
THIS IS THE END MY FRIENDS The school year has come to an end. This is very sad ( ☺ ) because, though we still have another year left, we're not going to be studying English in the second year. We have had a very good time in classes with Aurora, especially at 8AM classes (my favorites). The sound of the speakings will forever be echoing in my brain. Now, I gotta go my own way.

Hello! This is the job interview conversation I made using the information on pages 101, 116, 137 and 159 on the book.  A : Thank you for coming in today. Can you tell me a bit about your education and your work experience as a Marketing Representative? B : Yes, of course. I graduated high school and then I did a sales and marketing course. When I finished, I started working as a Marketing Representative at Selby Mobile Phones. I was there for two years at Selby Mobile Phones, until the company closed, and then another year at Thomson Medical Equipment. A : Why did you leave Thomson Medical Equipment? B : I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to work for a company that aligned more with my personal values. A : Great, thank you for explaining that. Now, let's talk about the position we're offering. The work hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Does that work for you? B : Yes, that works perfectly fine for me. A : The starting salary for this position is

3.7 PRESENTATION VII: Banking

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY ANA ROMERO AND LIDIA PÉREZ   With this presentation they gave us vocabulary as useful as bank card and ATM, and then some sentences we can use when whe go to a bank. They also made a recording of a conversation that could happen in a bank. They did a great job. The slides were cute and they presented it very nicely, though they read a little from the slides.

3.6 PRESENTATION VI: Ordering Food

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY ULISES VALIENTE AND MARCOS GUERRERO   In this presentation, my classmates explained how to order food at a restaurant. They gave us very useful sentences and words we can use when we go to a restaurant.   They are very good at presentations, they spoke very fluently and didn't read anything. The presentation was pretty and it didn't feel heavy.

3.5 PRESENTATION V: Booking Train Tickets

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY AITANA JIMÉNEZ, JESÚS MORENO Y YANIRA VÁZQUEZ One of the presentations I've seen today was about how to book train tickets. They showed us useful language and expressions that we can use in a train station. Their way of presenting it was really good because they had a great pronunciation, didn't seem nervous, and managed to make it dynamic and entertaining. They had an audio of them recreating a conversation that can happen at a train station, with an GIF representing the scenario: two travelers asking a woman with a map how to book a ticket. It was a very creative and original presentation.

3.4 PRESENTATION IV: Renting a Car

Image
This  exposition was presented by Analy Colque, Fran Mata, and Luis Manuel Cabello. The subject they chose to talk about was to rent a car.  They started the presentation by explaining some specific terms and referring to cars and driving, like parts of the car or important documentation. Then they have explained why renting a car is usually needed when you go on vacation, and give us some examples of expressions that are normally used when you talk to a company who rents cars. They have done such a good job. Their oral expression was great and they seemed to know what they were talking about. They didn't read a lot and managed to improvise.

3.3 PRESENTATION III: Choosing a Hotel

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY ALEJANDRO CHÁVES, DARÍO GÓMEZ AND DIEGO VERDUGO The second presentation of the day was about choosing a hotel. First, they announced that their team was missing a member, Diego, who could not be here because of personal issues, but he worked on the powerpoint so we will give him credit for that. (And he is very good at expositions though he couldn't do this one). They have told us how to choose the best hotel in the city we're visiting and how to make a reservation of a room. Their presentation was good. They give very good advice on choosing hotels, and useful words and expressions so we can understand the options given by the hotel. Their pronunciation was great and their way of present and express the information.  I have nothing bad to say about them.

3.2 PRESENTATION II: Booking Flights

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY MARINA, AITANA AND I .   We made a presentation with some  slides of words and vocabulary, useful sentences (and their traduction), and an example of a conversation inside an airplane. We did not only talk about how to book a fligh because we thought it is also important to know how to read de information screens inside an airport, and to understand the safety procedures inside the airplane, so we also gave examples of all that. We think we did a pretty good job, and that our classmates found our presentation interesting. One of them said that he thought there was good chemistry between us so our presentation was entertaining. We are all so proud of this presentation!

3.1 PRESENTATION I: Giving Directions

Image
THIS PRESENTATION WAS MADE BY CRISTIAN MORALES, EVELYN GUERRERO AND MANUEL RUEDA Today's presentation was about giving directions. They explained what answers can I give when someone asks us how to go to somewhere . They have done a pretty good job, although they have read the whole thing. They tried to pronounce things the right way and had very useful slides with vocabulary and sentences you can use to give directions. They also had a recording of an example of a conversation that could happen in real life. Overall, it was a great exposition although they can improve some aspects.  The rubric is on Moodle
