3.9 Job Interview

How to Pass a Job Interview Successfully – Career Centre – HSE University

Hello! This is the job interview conversation I made using the information on pages 101, 116, 137 and 159 on the book.

A: Thank you for coming in today. Can you tell me a bit about your education and your work experience as a Marketing Representative?

B: Yes, of course. I graduated high school and then I did a sales and marketing course. When I finished, I started working as a Marketing Representative at Selby Mobile Phones. I was there for two years at Selby Mobile Phones, until the company closed, and then another year at Thomson Medical Equipment.

A: Why did you leave Thomson Medical Equipment?

B: I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to work for a company that aligned more with my personal values.

A: Great, thank you for explaining that. Now, let's talk about the position we're offering. The work hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Does that work for you?

B: Yes, that works perfectly fine for me.

A: The starting salary for this position is 11,500 pounds per year. Is that acceptable for you?

B: Yes, that sounds reasonable to me.

A: You will have 22 days of holiday leave and 10 days of paid sick leave per year. Do you have any questions or concerns about these benefits?

B: No, that sounds good to me.

A: Lastly, based on your skills and experience, we'd like to schedule a second interview for next week. Are you available on Wednesday at 10am?

B: Yes, I am available on Wednesday at 10am. Thank you for considering me for this position.
